Blessing of the Saint Teresa of Jesus Chapel
On April 24th, 2013 the Chapel at Bishop Kelly High School was blessed in honor of Saint Teresa of Jesus. Saint Teresa of Jesus, also called Saint Teresa of Avila, was a Carmelite Nun who lived from 1515 – 1582. Saint Teresa was the writer of the Counter Reformation, and theologian of contemplative life through mental prayer. Saint Teresa’s Academy, founded in 1890 in Boise, Idaho, was named in her honor.
Forging a bond between the Saint Teresa’s Academy branch of our family tree is gift and a blessing for those of us at Bishop Kelly. We wish to honor our 123 years of shared history by naming our Chapel in honor of Saint Teresa, and all of the Alumni from the Academy that bore her name.
