School Culture
Ten years ago The Bishop Kelly Community embarked on a process to intentionally develop the BK culture we wanted, which we now call The BK Way. In a series of focus groups, we asked our key stakeholders (students, staff, and parents) what in our culture they wished to leave behind, what they wanted to bring forward to our new culture, and what new values or elements they wished to add. We believe the BK Way drives the behavior of students, faculty/staff, and parents. The BK Way represents our values AND our mission in action. Strategic Plan
the 2023 Strategic Plan for Bishop Kelly High School describes a path for BK to achieve our mission, to articulate the BK Way as our core values for community and our decision-making, to set specific goals and initiatives, and to identify and obtain the resources and capacities needed to realize these goals. The pandemic era presented a variety of challenges for time, resource, sna the need to embrace an agile mindset. We have integrated our learnings and new ideas from our 2020 – 2021 instructional and operating plans into our goals, strategies, and plans. Finally, each goal is nested within the domains embraced by the National Standards (and Benchmarks) for Effective Catholic Schools: Mission and Catholic Identity, Academic Excellence, and Operational Vitality, Governance, and Leadership.
