Sculpture
Sculpture
This introductory course offers students the chance to explore a wide range of artists, styles, and techniques in three-dimensional art. With a strong focus on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design, students will engage in hands-on learning through processes such as assemblage, reduction carving, and modeling. Working with materials like cardboard, plaster, polymer clay, and more, students will create sculptures that enhance their visual literacy and 21st-century skills. Through written, visual, and verbal expression, students will deepen their artistic understanding. Above all, a willingness to experiment and embrace the creative process is more important than prior experience. Sculpture 2 may be taken next as a continuation to further develop these skills and techniques as students work with new materials like wire, paper, and wood.
