Print-Making

Students will experience both drawing and painting elements while being exposed to a hands-on art making process. Printmaking is an artistic process based on transferring images from the original surface design, a matrix, to another surface such as paper or fabric. Essential to printmaking is the production of multiples and repetition. This class will introduce several printmaking media and techniques, including, monotypes, collagraph prints, screen prints, relief prints, and intaglio prints. This includes increased ability to purposely employ color, line, shape, texture, value, and the illusion of space through layering.
